Tom Allason, 27, conceived eCourier.co.uk while working as a shipbroker in 2002. After a courier lost some tickets for a group of his friends, Tom and university pal Jay Bregman spent a year studying the courier industry and identifying the bottlenecks within conventional courier operations.
They then enlisted the help of universities in US and Italy and developed an intelligent transportation platform that has changed the face of the same day delivery market. eCourier.co.uk began trading in 2004 and now employs 200 courier and staff within London.
Since launching, the business has grown at almost 20% per month making it Europe’s fastest growing delivery business. In his spare time Tom is an avid skier and poker player.
