Stephen Clarke Mitesh Soma

The spring 2009 season of startupslive kicked off in Birmingham to a great start as entrepreneurs Stephen Clarke of Truancy Call and Mitesh Soma of Chemist Direct explained how they’ve managed to create thriving businesses and keep them healthy during such tough economic conditions.

Stephen recalled how he got schools to sign up to his pupil absence alert service by using the time old ‘try before you buy’ sales technique. Local entrepreneur Mitesh offered some inspiration for delegates by recalling how just two years ago, he was sitting in the Startups Live audience himself, dreaming of giving the big players a run for their money with his online pharmacy proposition.
