| Imagine having a great idea, but no money and lots of front…being able to put that idea into practice, and achieving international acclaim as a result? That’s exactly what Tina Dutton and Andrea Winders, founders of Pink Ladies, have achieved since launching the business in June 2005.
Pink Ladies is a members club for women, and provides uniformed female drivers, to drive the members clubs’ vehicles. All cars are bright pink Renault Kangoos (apart from Angel, a green wheelchair accessible car), with pink leather interior, and each with its own personality.
The company was an overnight media success story, receiving headline news, and a recorded “PR” value of £1.6m in column inches in one month alone.
Along the way the ladies have encountered issues with licensing law…found a loophole…had the loophole closed…challenged the Minister for Transport…had a personal invitation to meet the Queen (and chatted to her about the service)…been made Fellows of the RSA…and finally (most recently) created a new loophole |
